In person church services
It's wonderful that we are able to gather for worship in church once again. Because of having to ensure we are COVID secure there are a number of changes about how we do so and a reduced capacity in church and a reduced rota of services for August. We are asking everyone to let us know which services they are hoping to come to each week. We are hopeful that we will have the capacity to fit everyone who wants to come, but we need to be able to plan accordingly and do not want to have to turn anyone away at the door. This will also double up as a track and trace record and your details will be deleted after 21 days. There is a simple online form you can fill out to let us know when you are hoping to come to church. To get the link please email Tiffer to go on the weekly email update list, which will always have a link to it. Alternatively you can email Charlotte Faircloth my PA to let her know you are hoping to come on email@example.com, or phone on 07397 240 713.
No one should feel under any obligation to come now that we have in person services again, especially if vulnerable. And if you are returning to in person services, please don't feel you have to come to every service. If you can join in online at 10am in the usual way please do. Some will have no option but to remain online, and they would appreciate others joining them I am sure. There is some guidance about how things work under COVID secure regulations and if you email Tiffer or Charlotte they can ensure you receive these in advance of the service(s) you are attending.
Zoom Online Services During the lockdown we are continuing to meet, but online! We are using Zoom for our services, which are on Sunday at 10am for Online Zoom Worship. These are also livestreamed on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/rattlesdenbenefice For those who would rather listen later, you can phone 01992 351223 to listen to the audio of the previous service. Please do let people who aren't on email know about this if you think they would appreciate it. Zoom Family Service We also have a 11am Family Zoom Service. This is more interactive and lasts 7 You will find full instructions on the village website www.brettenham.onesuffolk.net, on how to take part in the Zoom Services, Quiz Nights and Coffee Mornings.
Fundraising and donations
Along with most institutions and organisations in the country, St Mary’s Church is looking at a significant deficit this year, as our usual income from Sunday giving and cancelled fundraising events has obviously ceased. We are incredibly grateful for those who give by standing order or direct debit,
or who are putting their usual weekly donation aside until church reopens again. I realise that a lot of people are struggling, and some may have to reduce their charitable giving at this time, but if you are able to help it would be incredibly appreciated. The Parish Giving Scheme has opened a new phone line so people can set up monthly giving via direct debit that can be altered or cancelled at any time with a phone call. Please call 0333 002 1271 Monday to Friday in office hours and they will guide you through. It takes about 15 minutes, and you'll need your bank details and our church’s number: 330633228 If you would like to make a direct donation, then the bank details are:
Brettenham PCC Sort Code: 20-16-12 Acc No: 00195499
Please contact the treasurer Chris Clarke if you are a UK taxpayer and you wish to add gift aid to your donation at no extra cost to yourself. 01449 736607 firstname.lastname@example.org. Cheques made out to Brettenham PCC can be sent to Chris so please contact him for further details.
Thank you so much for any donation, it is incredibly appreciated to ensure your local churches remain open and upright for the next few years!
