In line with the government relaxing the legislation, we can now open our buildings for private prayer. Brettenham will be open on Wednesdays and Sundays 9am to 6pm.
The government guidance encourages people over 70 and those who are vulnerable to stay home and avoid going to churches, but also says it would be preferable if places of worship had particular times for them to enter when others are not. Can I suggest therefore that those in vulnerable categories try to use the buildings at the beginning of the day, before others may have been in.
In Brettenham there will not be kneelers but pew liners, which are white side up: please turn these upside down so that the blue side is facing up if you use a pew, and only use pews where the liner is white side up.
There is alcohol gel near the entrance, please use this on the way in and out, and try to avoid touching things whilst in the church.
You may like to use this prayer upon first re-entering the building after so long unable to:
"Loving God, thank you for this house of prayer where we praise and thank you for all you have given us. Help us to go out into the world, refreshed by your Spirit, to do what you have called us to do in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen"
